Some properties need more than a basic fence. When you've got open terrain, unpredictable weather, and a property that actually has to hold up year after year - the build has to be done right from the ground up. That's exactly what this job called for.
We ran 200 feet of ranch rail fence across this wooded property, working around the natural grade and tree line the whole way. The posts are driven steel - not just set in concrete, but driven deep into the ground for maximum stability. That's what gets you a wind rating up to 100 mph. It's the kind of spec you don't think about until a bad storm rolls through, and then you're really glad you went with it.
The two gates we built into the run are framed out with the same heavy-duty approach. Solid, square, and hung right so they'll open and close cleanly for years without sagging. That matters more than most people realize - a gate that drops or binds is one of the most common complaints we hear about fence work done on the cheap.
What we ended up with here is a fence that fits the property without fighting it. The ranch rail style works naturally against the cabin and the surrounding trees. It's not trying too hard. It just looks like it belongs - and it's built to stay put no matter what the weather throws at it.
